With a background in medical humanitarian work and a love of chocolate, Diana Lovett founded Cissé to ethically source responsible cocoa and support small-scale organic farmers. Diana lived and worked in Africa for many years doing medical humanitarian work and yearned for a way to create a business that contributed to social objectives. Cissé’s USDA Organic, single-origin, signature cocoa powder comes from the FUNDOPO cooperative in the Dominican Republic. Diana lives with her family in Westchester, NY. When she is not demoing her products, she is at the playground with her two small kids, hiking or reading for book club. The company crafts Fair Trade, non-GMO brownie thin snacks called Super Thins as well as decadent baking mixes and hot cocoas. The products launched in stores in 2012 and are now sold nationwide in Whole Foods, Target and thousands of retail locations.
