Ellen Hunt is an accomplished entrepreneur, business strategist, advisor and speaker.

A former senior executive at Equitable Investment Management Company and The Bank of New York's brokerage unit, known for her original and pragmatic thinking on business model and product development, Ellen went on to co-found FinancialSockets, a FinTech company with offices in New York and London. As CEO and President, she led the development and rollout of the institutional brokerage industry’s first SaaS solution for comprehensive commission management and regulatory compliance, which was acquired by State Street Corporation.

Supporting her passion for igniting the next generation of women leaders and women-led businesses, she actively works toward increasing female executive leadership and promoting gender diversity in the workplace. She was selected to serve as Director of the SUNY Levin Institute’s Women Entrepreneurs and Investors Program, funded by the Alfred P. Sloane Foundation and included on an advisory council of top women leaders from Springboard Enterprises, Plum Alley, Women Innovate Mobile, Digital Undivided, Golden Seeds and StarVest Partners. Today she is working with Icosystem to launch a software simulation platform that enables corporations to resolve core issues that impede their ability to achieve sustainable gender diversity.

Ellen is an accomplished speaker who has been invited to present her firm’s proprietary research and insights on emerging investment and marketing trends to the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, The European Traders’ Association, The Canadian Traders’ Association, the New York Society of Securities Analysts, The Global Investment Technology Leadership Forum, The Women’s Investment Management Forum and the Association for Investment Management Research.

With an eye always towards the future, Ellen has served on the boards of The Global Investment Technology Leadership Roundtable, The Women’s Bond Club and currently as President of the Board of Directors of The International Tailoring Company Building – an iconic loft building near Union Square, where she lives with her husband Joe.
